Join us for our 2nd annual #PromiseWalk!

Join us for our 2nd Annual #PromiseWalk on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 11am-1 pm, at First Energy Stadium.  All of the proceeds from the event will support Family Promise of Berks County.  Our mission is to help families and youth experiencing homelessness achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.

This event is fun for all ages–kids and pets too! Enjoy exercise and fun with your family and friends. Form a team, walk individually or with your pet to raise funds.

Online registration is only $25 per person. You will receive a t-shirt, admission to the Latin Fest (happening right after the Promise Walk at the same location) and be entered to win a Samsung TV! You and your sponsors can donate more to help motivate you to the finish line, whether you walk, jog, or sprint to the goal.

Miss connecting with family and friends? Form a team and invite other households to join you – all in the spirit of coming together to help local families and youth in need. Can’t join us in person? Join us virtually and share your videos and pictures on social media.

Teams can share their progress by uploading videos and pictures daily on their team site. Inspire others and watch to see which team will take the lead!

Not ready to run? Sponsor your favorite team and contribute towards the finish line as a Walker, Jogger, or Sprinter.

Prizes that support local businesses will be awarded to the top fundraisers in the following categories: Individual, Team, and Most Creative Video or Picture.

Join us at the FirstEnergy Stadium Saturday, August 28th from 11am -11:30am for registration and 11:30-12:30 for the Promise Walk, followed by an announcement of the prize winners and to hear more about Family Promise of Berks County.  Immediately following the Promise Walk, the Latin Fest will begin at the FirstEnergy Stadium-stay and enjoy Latin music and food, drinks, games and raffles!

On the day of the walk, please share your videos and pictures on social media using #PromiseWalk #ComeTogether #FamilyPromiseBerks

Do you know a business that might be interested in sponsoring the event?  Please contact cdimovitz@gmail.com by August 1st.

Taste of Hope THANK YOU!

Taste of Hope 2019 was a great success thanks to all our sponsors, volunteers, client testimonials, those in attendance and especially YOU!

It was an honor to award the late Kurt Heinly our Community Impact Award.

Home Sweet Homelessness was very effective and received loads of positive feedback. It opened eyes and hearts, giving people a new perspective on the realities and struggles families and youth experiencing homelessness encounter daily.

A call to action was placed at each station encouraging support to the programs providing crucial services to your neighbors in need year round. We invite you to continue to be part of the solution. Learn how you can make an impact at how-to-help

Reading Eagle educates about homelessness in Berks

Tremendous thanks to the Reading Eagle reporter David Mekeel & photographer Susan L. Angstadt for their meaningful series on Homelessness in Berks. Their in-depth look at the people affected by the problem, and the organizations that help them is well worth the read. #FamilyPromiseBerks truly appreciates the awareness this series is generating. Read the article about Family Promise and the rest of the series.

Watch our new videos!

Family Promise of Berks County has been working on a few videos that highlight our work in the community and serve as a tool to create a deeper understanding of our programs and services,  greater awareness, increased impact and inspired participation.

We are pleased to share with you that the video series of stories that explore how we’re combating family & youth homelessness is now complete and available to view on YouTube and Facebook. Links are included below.
